ClearSale recognizes the importance of protecting the rights and freedoms of our clients’ customers.
To this end, we’ve engaged Compliance Point to perform a PIA for our fraud protection solution. Compliance Point conducted interviews with our team and reviewed documentation for substantiation.
Subsequently, ClearSale has implemented formal policies and procedures to ensure that, when acting as a processor, the personal data we process on behalf of our clients is handled in a secure manner. We also have various policies in place to mitigate potential risk to data subjects through our fraud prevention tool; however, two areas of this PIA indicate potential medium risk to data subjects.
ClearSale retains personal data indefinitely unless requested to do otherwise by the client.
- ClearSale does not have procedures in place to conduct data hygiene on a recurring basis, and the amount of personal data we maintain may therefore impose risk to data subjects.
- Due to the indefinite retention of personal data, there is a likelihood that personal data may become outdated or inaccurate.
